COVID MEASURES
- Our balls, courts, and facility are thoroughly sanitized everyday
- Balls are swapped out for new ones at least once a month
- Our staff members rigorously follow state and federal COVID guidelines
As a modern tennis academy, we are bringing a new concept to the Kansas City scene. We accept students, not members! No contracts, just tennis! With us, you just book one of our programs or court times and enjoy it. No nonsensical pre-payments on memberships or other hidden fees!
SW19 Tennis Academy is your premier tennis academy in the midwest. Our experienced coaches give elite training through clinics and private lessons to the student who wants to improve their game!
We are an official UTR tennis event organizer, providing competitions through the UTR’s rating system.
Whether you are a local tennis player in the Kansas City area, or a player from other parts of the United States or another country, SW19 Tennis Academy is the option for you to improve your skills!
Our academy is partnering with Universal Tennis School to provide an education for our full-time students.

Full-time Academy
Intensive full-time tennis training program to elevate the game of the serious and dedicated tennis student. This is for players with aspirations to play high level USTA or UTR matches, at the college level and/or professionally.
Experienced Coaches
Head Senior Coach Damiao Guilhermino has over 3 decades of coaching experience. He has used his unique tennis training techniques, with many professional and ATP/WTA level players and specializes in young adult collegiate training.
Clinics/Lessons
Tennis instruction to learn the basics of tennis or improve upon basic skills. Clinics, lessons and camps for the beginner to advanced, old and young alike. After school and weekend programs available.

Started my teen daughter at here after doing a trial lesson. The Coach is amazing! He is from South America, with limited English, but is one of the most effective, expert, and somehow well communicative teachers I have seen for any of my kids activities. 10 Minutes into the trial- I was impressed enough to sign up for 3 months of lessons.
The Academy is new and working out its class times and communication still. The benefits of this is that we signed up for a class and pay a class lower rate (I think it is about $30/hr? If I remember right) than I would for private lessons (lowest I had seen in a local KC program was $55/hr) and at SW19 have gotten very small class sizes or one on one lessons each week. Again- this is with the amazing coach with decades of experience. Amazing value.
They did ask us to make a few month commitment when we signed up. After the trial lesson- I felt very confident signing up. We are on lesson number 4 and I am thrilled with what she has learned and how consistent her stroke is. Highly recommend.
